Manuka Honey as a Natural Alternative to Antibiotics

Recent studies have shown that a particular type of honey outperforms antibiotics when treating many health complications, both internally and topically on the skin.

There is a natural alternative to conventional medicine when treating certain health conditions such as stomach ulcers, acid reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, infected wounds, pressure sores, etc. This natural treatment solution comes in the form of a special type of honey found only in New Zealand called Manuka Honey.

Since Manuka Honey contains natural antimicrobial properties, many health conditions caused by harmful microorganisms (bacterial, viral or fungal) can be treated with Manuka Honey. Since pharmaceuticals are notorious for causing negative side effects, Manuka Honey is being viewed as a safe alternative. It has been discovered that Manuka Honey contains extremely powerful antibacterial properties that can effectively treat a wide spectrum of health conditions, without any harmful side effects.

But don't be fooled. Just because Manuka Honey is a natural substance, doesn't mean it has less healing powers than medicine. Not only does Manuka Honey work like a medicine in treating certain conditions, in many cases, it seems to work better than antibiotics and shows effectiveness even where traditional forms of medicine have failed. For example, the resilient antibiotic-resistant suberbugs known as MRSA that are responsible for causing potentially life-threatening Staph infections are no match to the antibacterial action of Manuka Honey. This unique medical-grade honey goes to work at disabling the dangerous microbes by dehydrating them and preventing them from multiplying.

For conditions such as gastrointestinal complications, IBS and H. pylori/stomach ulcers, Manuka Honey can be taken orally. However, Manuka Honey has many useful topical applications as well. For example, when applied directly to the skin, Manuka Honey is effective in treating conditions such as acne, burns, wounds, eczema, ringworm and any other bacterial or fungal infection.

Medical professionals around the world are beginning to recognize the benefits of using Manuka Honey instead of antibiotics and other medications. Unlike antibiotics, it's not crucial to identify the type of bacteria that is causing the infection as Manuka Honey destroys all infectious microorganisms that may be present. When using antibiotics, the specific infectious bacterium has to be identified in order to determine which antibiotic should be used.

There is also no problem with resistance when using Manuka Honey for medicinal purposes. When using antibiotics, there is a 50% chance that it won't work due to bacteria becoming so widely resistant to antibiotics in recent years. To date, there has been no reports of any bacteria being able to develop a resistance to Manuka Honey. With experts predicting the emergence of new antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria in the future, doctors will become more reliant on Manuka Honey's unparalleled antibacterial properties.

Manuka Honey's ability to eradicate MRSA is now being viewed as a major breakthrough in the health care industry, as reports of Staph infections are running rampant all over the world. The CDC has recently determined that MRSA now kills more people in the U.S. than AIDS, making it a serious health concern of epidemic proportion. With antibiotics proving to be relatively useless against MRSA, Manuka Honey's efficacy is gaining worldwide recognition.

Another benefit of using Manuka Honey for medical purposes is that it tastes better than medicine. Manuka Honey is also less expensive than most medicine as well. People all over the world are using Manuka Honey to treat heartburn, ulcers, stomach aches, gastritis and other internal health complications. For skin care, Manuka Honey must be applied topically and can be used for any kind of wounds, skin ulcers, sores, insect stings/bites, poison ivy/oak, scrapes, acne, eczema, etc. Even cosmetically, Manuka Honey is being used to reduce wrinkles on the skin.

Because of Manuka Honey's rich, sweet taste, taking it orally is usually not a problem. However, Manuka Honey can be somewhat of a sticky mess when used on the skin. A company called Honeymark has developed a line of skin care products containing active Manuka Honey to eliminate this inconvenience.

"Even though it is very effective, using Manuka Honey externally to treat conditions such as eczema, athlete's foot or any other condition that covers a large portion of the skin can be impractical because of its sticky nature," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "That's why our customers prefer using our Manuka Honey skin care products over pure Manuka Honey. Our products offer all of the same benefits to using Manuka Honey without the sticky mess."

It's important to know that Manuka Honey can be diluted 100 fold and still be effective as a natural healing agent. Therefore, using Manuka Honey as a main ingredient in liquid-based or cream-based products presents no threat of it losing its potency. For internal purposes, Buonanotte recommends taking pure Manuka Honey orally, as long as it's a medical-grade active Manuka Honey (UMF 10 or higher). For external purposes, Honeymark's Manuka Honey skin care products are user friendly with a much more desirable application.

A Treatment Solution for MRSA that Really Works

Honeymark, a manufacturer of high-end skin care products has developed an antiseptic cream containing a special type of honey that is effective in successfully treating Staph infections caused by MRSA and other infectious bacteria.

During the course of the last 10 years, the number of hospital patients infected with a resilient, antibiotic-resistant strain of bacteria called MRSA has escalated dramatically. There is reason to believe that there are even more cases than reported publicly. Nevertheless, MRSA Staph infections have risen to epidemic proportions.

MRSA is not airborne but rather spread by touch or contact. Statistics indicate that 6 out of 7 people infected with MRSA contracted it at a hospital or some type of healthcare facility. Last year, the CDC announced that MRSA claims more than 18,000 lives per year. This number supersedes the amount of people who die of AIDS. About 2 million hospital patients, nationwide, contract infections (MRSA-related or otherwise) during hospital stays each year, 100,000 of which end up being fatal.

Hospitals, however, are by no means the only place where MRSA can be contracted. About 30% of the general population unknowingly carry MRSA on the surface of their skin without any noticeable side effects. In addition to hospitals, outbreaks have been known to occur in places such as schools and public gyms. Private residences and even pets are also places that can harbor and spread this potentially life-threatening bacteria. Public hysteria over MRSA has been amplified by the fact that antibiotics tend to be ineffective in treating it.

Antibiotic-resistant disease is a man-made problem caused by the abuse and overuse of antibiotics. Prior to the advent of antibiotics, honey was often used to treat wounds and clear infection. Now that antibiotics have proven to be less effective against certain types of infections, medical professionals are reverting back to the use of honey for medicinal purposes.

One of the most medicinally potent honeys of all is found in New Zealand. As well as clearing any infection that may be present, Manuka Honey has a very potent anti-inflammatory action which soothes wounds and removes the inflammation which otherwise would stop it from healing. It stimulates tissue growth and repairs wounds. Manuka Honey also stops scarring from appearing during the healing process.

The secret behind honey's healing power is glucose oxidase, which is an enzyme that is found in the saliva of honeybees. This enzyme, combined with the nectar of flowers, produces honey. The enzyme's antibacterial properties protect the honey from contamination. This enzyme also converts glucose to hydrogen peroxide, which is a gentle disinfectant.

The acidity of honey is enough to stop bacterial growth. The hydrogen peroxide present in honey is produced at safe levels (1/1000th of the level of a bottle of hydrogen peroxide antiseptic) but still potent enough to stop bacteria from growing. This is another factor that makes Manuka Honey a powerful antibacterial agent.

It's important to know that not all honey should be used for medicinal purposes. The antibacterial properties in honey vary greatly, depending on the flowers that the bees gather nectar from. Manuka Honey, which is derived from the Manuka plant in New Zealand, is the only honey that should be used for medical purposes. Manuka Honey has extremely high levels of antibacterial properties, significantly higher than that of other types of honey. Manuka Honey also contains a mystery ingredient known as the Manuka Factor. It is believed that this unique antibacterial factor is its secret weapon in battling the MRSA superbug.

Manuka Honey is unique in terms of its healing properties. There is no other honey like it in the world. It has the ability to penetrate skin very well, getting to deeply infected tissues. Manuka Honey is now being considered the best topical solution to treat serious infections.

Honeymark's First Aid Antiseptic Lotion contains active Manuka Honey as a natural healing agent. "Our First Aid Antiseptic Lotion has been used to successfully treat MRSA Staph infections," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Patients no longer have to suffer with the negative side effects of antibiotics that usually end up being ineffective anyway. Manuka Honey is a safe and effective treatment alternative."

In addition to the treatment of MRSA, prevention is also a concern. Honeymark's Hand Sanitizing Gel, Antiseptic Spray and Liquid Hand Soap, all contain Manuka Honey and can be used to prevent the spread of MRSA and other infectious bacteria.

Healing with Manuka Honey

There are many creative ways to mix Manuka Honey into everyday personal care items for a variety of different uses. Here are some ideas...

Alternative to Mouthwash
Instead of using mouthwash to cure bad breath, Manuka Honey could be a much better option. Mouthwash contains alcohol which not only kills the germs that cause bad breath, gum disease and tooth decay, but it also kills all of the good bacteria that should be present in the mouth. Instead, try putting a teaspoon of Manuka Honey in your mouth and swooshing it around for about 30 seconds. The Manuka Honey will immediately begin to dissolve in your mouth and liquefy. Its natural antibacterial properties will destroy all harmful bacteria and leave the good bacteria. In addition to causing bad breath, cavities and gum disease, this harmful bacteria in your mouth has also been linked to heart disease. Using Manuka Honey for oral care is an excellent daily practice.

Lice and Dandruff
Manuka Honey has also been known to successfully treat dandruff and lice. Try mixing a tablespoon of Manuka Honey with your shampoo and/or conditioner each time you shower. In addition to being effective in treating dandruff and lice, Manuka Honey will also make your hair look and feel healthier.

Naturally Moist Lips
Take your favorite lip balm and cut off a pea-size amount. Then smear in a small amount of Manuka Honey and apply a thin layer to your lips. Mixing it with your lip balm will take the sticky mess out of applying pure Manuka Honey to your lips. The Manuka Honey will lock in the moisture, eliminating dry cracks and softening your lips.

Facial Mask
Cook 1/2 cup of oatmeal and let it sit until it's cool. If you're impatient, you can try putting it in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes. Then mix in about 2 heaping tablespoons of Manuka Honey. Wash your face to get any impurities off. Using your fingers, smear the oatmeal/honey mixture on your face. Leave on and lie on your back for about 30 minutes to ensure the mixture doesn't fall off your face. Then wash your face again and you'll find your skin feeling soft and smooth.

Sinus Infections
Since Manuka Honey contains powerful antibacterial properties, it only makes sense that it could be used to combat the bacteria that cause sinus infections. Take a teaspoon of Manuka Honey and mix it with salt water or saline solution. Then put it in a nasal spray or pump and squirt it into your nostrils. If you can't get your hands on a nasal sprayer, mix a heaping tablespoon of Manuka Honey in a cup with salt water and suck it up in your nose. It won't be fun but it will help your sinus infection.

Cracked Heals
If the heals of your feet are severely dry and cracked, it could make walking or standing uncomfortable or even painful. However, combining Manuka Honey and olive oil and applying a thin layer of the mixture to your heals is a quick home remedy. Do this at night before you go to bed and let it soak into your skin over night while you sleep. Repeat this for a week or as necessary.

Manuka Honey has many other uses both internally and topically on the skin. For more information or to buy Manuka Honey, call 1-866-427-7329 or visit www.HoneymarkProducts.com.

Using Manuka Honey as a Natural Healing Agent

Recent studies have uncovered the extraordinary healing powers of a special type of honey only found in the New Zealand region.

Scientists and chemists have combed the far reaches of the earth in search of natural ingredients that can be used for medicinal purposes. One of the more recent discoveries is that of a unique type of honey that is so effective in treating certain health conditions that it has even outperformed medicine in some cases. This medical-grade honey is known as bio-active Manuka Honey.

Manuka Honey is a premium mono-floral honey produced by bees that feed on the nectar of the flowers that grow on the Manuka bush, which is indigenous to New Zealand. It has been discovered that honey made from this nectar contains certain plant-derived components that are very effective in treating a wide spectrum of health conditions.

When taken orally, Manuka Honey is effective in treating stomach aches, stomach ulcers, sore throats, acid reflux disease, gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome, cold and flu symptoms, etc. Manuka Honey can also be used topically on the skin to treat conditions such as acne, wounds, burns, wrinkles, eczema, ringworm and even MRSA Staph infections.

Some people are under the misconception that if they consume Manuka Honey by taking it orally, it can be effective in treating some of these topical conditions. Even though Manuka Honey has many health benefits when ingested, it has to be applied directly to the affected area to work. For example, to treat an infected wound, Manuka Honey has to come in direct contact with the bacteria that is causing the infection. Manuka Honey doesn't work the same way that antibiotics do, so for some uses, Manuka Honey needs to be applied to the skin.

If the idea of putting honey on your skin is not desirable, a Long Island-based manufacturer of skin care products called Honeymark imports Manuka Honey from New Zealand and blends it into their products for a much more user-friendly application. For example, Manuka Honey is effective in treating Athlete's Foot. However, smearing Manuka Honey all over your foot might be somewhat uncomfortable and impractical. Honeymark's Anti-Fungal Solution contains Manuka Honey but is a liquid-based product so that it can be easily applied to the skin, without the sticky mess.

"Using honey as a medicine is no longer considered a home remedy," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Even though honey has been used for medical purposes in many cultures for thousands of years, Manuka Honey from New Zealand has been found to have additional healing properties not found in other types of honey, making it a viable treatment alternative to expensive, and in some cases, ineffective medication."

Honeymark plans to increase its line of Manuka Honey skin care products in the first quarter of 2009. Such new products will include a Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash and Moisturizing Hand and Body Lotion, all of which will contain Manuka Honey. Honeymark also plans on releasing their own brand of pure Manuka Honey for consumers interested in utilizing Manuka Honey for internal purposes.

Anti-MRSA Kit by Honeymark

A manufacturer of high-end skin care products has developed extremely powerful antibacterial products that can both treat and prevent MRSA Staph infections. Consumers can now purchase all of these products in one package.

After many years of overuse and misuse of antibiotics, bacteria have developed antibiotic resistance, which has become a global health crisis. Experts are also predicting the emergence of new drug-resistant strains in the future. These facts have significantly escalated public hysteria and have imposed upon us the chilling reality that no one is impervious to life-threatening, infection causing bacteria.

Despite the grim reality of antibiotics proving to be relatively useless in combating the MRSA superbug, there is a solution that, oddly enough, comes in the form of a natural ingredient. Honeymark's secret ingredient isn't really that much of a secret at all, actually. Just maybe not well known in the U.S. yet. Active Manuka Honey has been proven to be one of the only substances in the world that is capable of completely eradicating MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria.

Manuka Honey is a premium honey that is made by bees that utilize a particular nectar from a flower that can only be found in New Zealand. This flower grows on the Manuka bush, also known as the tea tree or Leptospermum scoparium. It's this unique nectar that gives Manuka Honey the extraordinary antibacterial properties it is becoming known for.

Honey has been used to treat wounds and infections for many years in many different cultures. However, it has been discovered that Manuka honey from New Zealand has additional healing properties not found in other types of honey, making it far more superior for medicinal use. This medical-grade honey is now being viewed as one of the only viable treatment alternatives to antibiotics for the treatment of MRSA.

Honeymark's Anti-MRSA Kit includes all of their products that can be used to treat and prevent MRSA such as their First Aid Antiseptic Lotion, Hand Sanitizing Gel, Antiseptic Spray and Liquid Hand Soap, all of which contain active Manuka Honey as a natural antibacterial agent. The pack also includes a 500 gram jar of active Manuka Honey. Honeymark's First Aid Antiseptic Lotion has been used by many people to successfully treat MRSA. The company boasts this product as its best seller, specifically because of its ability effectively treat Staph infections.

Prevention is also very important, especially for individuals who have previously suffered from a MRSA Staph infection, which can reoccur if not treated properly. Honeymark's Hand Sanitizing Gel, Antiseptic Spray and Liquid Hand Soap are excellent products to ensure your skin is free from harmful bacteria that can cause infection.

"At a time when antibiotics and other traditional forms of medication have completely failed to cure this potentially life-threatening condition, the medical industry has viewed Manuka Honey as a major breakthrough in the treatment of MRSA," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Unlike antibiotics and some pharmaceuticals, Manuka Honey is an all-natural ingredient that has been found to have no negative side effects."

Honeymark's Anti-MRSA Kit is ideal for students, teachers, athlete's and an absolute must for medical professionals and hospital workers. For more information or to purchase this pack, call 1-866-427-7329 or visit www.HoneymarkProducts.com.

New Antiseptic Spray with Manuka Honey

Honeymark's Antiseptic spray is a non-staining, non-greasy, non-sticky, alcohol-free antiseptic that can be used to relieve pain and prevent infection in wounds, scrapes and burns.

With cases of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria (such as MRSA) on the rise, keeping skin free of harmful germs is an increasingly growing concern. MRSA bacterial cells don't need a wound to penetrate the surface of the skin. This resilient bacterium can find its way into pores, hair follicles or microscopic cracks to cause a serious and potentially life threatening infection.

Some antiseptic products contain synthetic ingredients that can damage the skin as a result of regular and continuous use. Most hand gels and soaps contain alcohol which can dry the skin and crack it which gives germs an opportunity to get below the surface of the skin where they can cause infection. However, Honeymark's Antiseptic Spray utilizes Manuka Honey as a natural antimicrobial agent. Manuka Honey is a safe, natural ingredient that has been found to have no harmful side effects when used topically on the skin as a healing agent. Studies have proven that there are no forms of harmful microorganisms that can combat the powerful healing properties of Manuka Honey, whether they be bacterial, viral or fungal. This product also contains Benzalkonium chloride which is considered one of the safest biocides and has a long history of efficacious use in eradicating bacteria.

Honeymark's Antiseptic Spray can be used to both heal and prevent infection. For scrapes and abrasions, it has a lot more of a user-friendly application for covering large portions of the skin apposed to antiseptic creams. It's also good for reaching areas often missed by soap and hand gels, such as around jewelry (rings) and under long fingernails. It's also a safe "no-touch" first aid treatment rather than having to risk cross-infection if applying an antiseptic to another person.

Honeymark's Antiseptic Spray is ideal for sports bags, lockers, pocketbooks, satchels, knapsacks or first aid kits. These days, it's important to protect yourself from infection as well as preventing yourself from passing infection to the people you touch. There are many people who unknowingly carry infectious bacteria on their skin that can easily infect other people who may have a break in their skin. If you're on the go and there's no place to wash your hands, one spray of this product forms an instant, protective layer that helps to prevent infection and aids natural healing.

"Manuka Honey has a very soothing effect on the skin," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Its anti-inflammatory properties help relieve pain associated with wounds, burns, insect bites and stings while protecting against harmful bacteria that cause infection." Manuka Honey is currently being regarded as one of the only substances in the world that is capable of killing MRSA and healing Staph infections.

The non-aerosol, pump spray is safe for the environment and easy to use. For more information or to purchase Honeymark's Antiseptic Spray with Manuka Honey, call 1-866-427-7329 or visit www.HoneymarkProducts.com. Honeymark products are not tested on animals.

New Antimicrobial Liquid Hand Soap with Manuka Honey

A Manufacturer of skin care products has developed a liquid soap that is effective in destroying antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria such as MRSA.

Bacteria are unavoidable and, for the most part, usually benignly. The majority of the bacteria that can be found on our hands at any given time are usually acquired when we touch different surfaces. Even though bacteria are a part of our world, no one wants to go out of their way to come in contact with them or have them remain on our skin. With the recent outbreak of drug-resistant forms of infectious bacteria, consumers are growing more concerned about protecting themselves from these resilient microscopic super-bugs.

In the 1990's, we began to see a surge of antibacterial soaps flooding the market. These soaps claim to be antibacterial because they contain either alcohol or a chemical called triclosan. There are several problems with these types of antibacterial soaps. For example, even though a soap claims to be antibacterial, it doesn't mean it's capable of killing other types of germs like a virus or fungus. In addition, overuse of chemicals like triclosan can cause bacteria to develop a resistance to its antibacterial action, basically rendering it useless.

The utilization of alcohol in antibacterial soap presents somewhat of a different dilemma. It is true that alcohol can kill germs on the surface of the skin. However, it also dries the skin which creates microscopic cracks that can give germs an opportunity to get below the surface where they can cause a lot more harm.

Honeymark has developed a Liquid Hand Soap that uses different ingredients to keep hands germ-free, without the use of alcohol or triclosan. Manuka Honey, which is a special type of honey only found in the New Zealand region, has extremely powerful antibacterial properties not found in other types of honey. Unlike alcohol and other synthetic ingredients, Manuka Honey has the ability to draw moisture out of bacterial cells, making it impossible for them to survive.

Even though Manuka Honey dehydrates bacteria, it has a very moisturizing effect on the skin. Manuka Honey has the ability to nourish, soothe and heal sensitive skin, as well as repair damaged skin and regenerate new skin growth. It is also an active antioxidant and is able to absorb free radicals which cause skin damage.

Manuka Honey's antibacterial properties are second to none. Scientific studies indicate that there are no types of bacteria that have been able to develop a resistance to it. Even antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria such as MRSA and VRE are no match for this premium New Zealand honey.

Manuka Honey is also considered to be antimicrobial, which means that in addition to its ability to destroy infectious bacteria, it can also eradicate other types of harmful microorganisms whether they be viral or fungal. Honeymark's Liquid Hand Soap also contains Benzalkonium Chloride, which is an FDA approved antiseptic that acts as an extremely powerful antimicrobial agent.

What does all of this mean? It means that there is a liquid soap available that is capable of destroying germs such as E. coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, VRE, MRSA and others. The key to protecting yourself and the people around you from being infected by harmful germs like these is to wash your hands regularly with Honeymark's Liquid Hand Soap for 20 to 30 seconds, lather well with a generous amount of soap, use a lot of friction which gets rid of the dead skin and dirt that harbors germs, rinse thoroughly and dry your hands well.

Despite what you might think, this product is not sticky. Manuka Honey has long been known for its nourishing effect on the skin. Unlike other antimicrobial ingredients, Manuka Honey is a safe, all-natural substance that has been found to have no known side effects. Combined with other valuable ingredients, this product leaves your hands feeling soft, smooth, clean and completely germ free.

For more information or to purchase Honeymark's Antimicrobial Liquid Hand Soap with Manuka Honey, call 1-866-427-7329 or visit www.HoneymarkProducts.com. This product is not tested on animals.

New Alcohol-Free Hand Sanitizing Gel with Manuka Honey by Honeymark

Skin care manufacturer specializing in Manuka Honey products has released a new antibacterial hand gel that can ward off infectious microorganisms on the surface of the skin, including MRSA.

The leader in Manuka Honey skin care products has outdone themselves again by launching a new product that is effective as a preventative measure in the battle against MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria that cause infection. Their Hand Sanitizing Gel contains Manuka Honey as an antibacterial agent and is capable of destroying bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, VRE, MRSA, etc. It also contains Benzalkonium chloride which is an FDA approved antiseptic.

According to the CDC, bacterial infections account for almost 2 million health complications each year, 100,000 of which are fatal. Most hand gels contain alcohol to kill germs. Alcohol may have the ability to kill germs but it also dries the skin out and cracks it, giving germs the opportunity to get on the inside where they can cause far more harm than on the surface of the skin. Honeymark's Hand Sanitizing Gel is alcohol-free and kills germs on contact when you don't have time to wash, leaving hands felling soft, fresh and clean without the need for water.

Manuka Honey has an antibacterial activity primarily due to the presence of hydrogen peroxide which is formed in a slow-release manner by the enzyme glucose oxidase. Manuka Honey can be diluted and still destroy bacteria very efficiently. It also contains an additional antibacterial compound found only in honey produced from the Leptospermum plant which is known as the Unique Manuka Factor or UMF. In addition, Manuka Honey is considered to be antimicrobial which means that it can destroy any infectious microorganisms whether they be bacterial, viral or fungal.

"Our Hand Sanitizing Gel is a far more superior product than alcohol-based gels such as Purell," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "With the widespread risk of contracting MRSA and experts predicting the emergence of new drug-resistant bacterial strains in the future, this product offers a safe and effective way to protect yourself against infection."

Honeymark also offers a similar product in the form of an Antiseptic Spray. For more information or to purchase Honeymark's Hand Sanitizing Gel with Manuka Honey, call 1-866-427-7329 or visit www.HoneymarkProducts.com.

New Acne Cream with Manuka Honey by Honeymark

A New York-based skin care manufacturer that specializes in Manuka Honey has developed a product that utilizes the natural healing properties of this premium honey to eliminate pimples on the skin.

Manuka Honey is the first breakthrough in the area of acne treatment in many years. This special type of honey is produced by bees that feed on the nectar of the flowers that grow on the Manuka bush, which is indigenous to New Zealand. It has been discovered that Manuka Honey contains extraordinary healing properties not found in other types of honey and even outperforms most medications. Manuka Honey is not only effective in eliminating existing acne but it can also prevent new breakouts from forming under the skin. It also treats acne in a way that is far less damaging to the skin than many other acne treatments.

The antibacterial properties present in Manuka Honey kills the excess bacteria that builds up on the skin. This bacteria can become trapped in hair follicles and pores. Once these bacteria enter the skin, they react with oil and other substances, resulting in acne.

Sometimes, traditional acne treatments can dry the skin. However, Manuka Honey has a hydrating effect and natural moisturizing effect on the skin. As a general rule, hydrated skin heals faster. Also, unlike other ingredients commonly found in most acne products, Manuka Honey has been found to have no negative side effects. Since Manuka Honey is a natural ingredient and an anti-irritant it doesn't aggravate sensitive skin.

There are also other benefits to using Manuka Honey to treat acne. For example, Manuka Honey has an anti-inflammatory action that relieves pain and reduces redness on the skin as a result of swelling and inflamed tissue. If pimples become infected, Manuka Honey's natural antibacterial properties go to work on disinfecting the area very quickly. Manuka Honey also has an osmotic effect that has the ability to draw impurities out of pores, leaving the skin clean and smooth.

In some severe cases, acne can create scars. When a scab forms over damaged skin, new skin growth can only occur under the scab, causing the new tissue to grow uneven with the surface of the skin. This is how skin deformity and scars are formed. However, the moist healing environment created by Manuka Honey naturally lifts scabs off the skin, allowing new skin tissue to grow flush with the surface of the skin. This is another major benefit to using Manuka Honey to cure acne.

Manuka Honey unclogs pores by drawing impurities out of the skin. It also has the ability to draw moisture out of bacterial cells that may be present in acne breakouts, helping pimples to heal faster. All of these factors make Manuka Honey a valuable ingredient in Honeymark's Acne Cream. This unique formulation works very quickly so you won't have to wait to see results. When applying the Honeymark's Acne Cream with Manuka Honey to pimples, you can expect to see a significant improvement within 2-4 days.

Honeymark Launches New Anti-Wrinkle Serum with Manuka Honey

New York-based skin care manufacturer introduces their first cosmetic product, an anti-aging system containing their signature ingredient, Manuka Honey.

Honey has been used for cosmetic purposes going back as far as Cleopatra, who used to mix it with milk and apply it to her face. Recent studies suggest that Manuka Honey, a premium honey produced in the New Zealand region, has an even greater effect on the skin than other types of honey. It has been discovered that high doses of healing nutrients found in this honey such as B-vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and enzymes play a key role in reversing cell damage and aging.

Manuka honey contains antioxidants that heal, repair and nourish the skin, making it look and feel younger, smoother and healthier. The rejuvenating properties found in Manuka Honey help in the regeneration of collagen and elastin. It helps reduce lines and wrinkles and helps the skin retain more moisture so that it doesn't appear to be dry or flaky.

It has also been found that Manuka Honey helps the skin's cell renewal process. This means younger looking skin cells are more readily available. It creates stronger collagen protein which helps keep skin youthful and supple. In addition, Manuka Honey contains natural antiseptic qualities that heal scratches or sores that may be present on the surface of the skin. The antioxidants present in Manuka Honey protect against free radicals in the environment.

As Manuka Honey penetrates deeply into the skin, it nourishes and rejuvenates, making the skin feel and look softer and younger. Free radicals damage collagen fibers responsible for keeping skin firm and tight. Manuka Honey strengthens collagen, destroys the radicals and improves the skins elasticity giving the appearance of younger-looking skin. Manuka Honey is so effective as a natural healing agent, it has even been proven to be effective in treating conditions such as acne, eczema, bacterial and fungal infections.

In addition to Manuka Honey, Honeymark's Anti-Wrinkle Serum contains other valuable anti-aging ingredients, such as Matrixyl, Retinol and Collagen.

Matrixyl contains polypeptides called matrikines, that restructure and repair the skin. They stimulate collagen production by jump-starting the skin repair process, causing significant improvements in elasticity and skin tone. Matrixyl is an amazing breakthrough in skin care, providing a significant anti-wrinkle and skin lifting effect. It actually penetrates the skin to repair and stimulate collagen production, leading to smoother, more radiant skin. After only two months of using Honeymark's Anti-Wrinkle Serum, customers will experience a 45% decrease in wrinkle depth, 250% increase in collagen production and 15% improvement in skin tone.

Retinol is a Vitamin A derivative that repairs and stimulates collagen and elastin, creating firmer, smoother skin. Its small molecular structure allows it to penetrate the outer layers of the skin and repairs the lower layers of the skin where collagen and elastin exist. Retinol also increases skin cell turnover and exfoliation, drastically reducing age spots and blotches on the skin.

Collagen is a major structural protein that makes up 75% of the skin. It stimulates the formation of new collagen fibrils, leading to skin regeneration. At the same time elasticity is improved, helping to smooth wrinkles on the face and neck.

"We have combined the best anti-aging ingredients for a truly unique age reversing system," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Our Anti-Wrinkle Serum significantly outperforms other higher priced products containing ingredients that are damaging to the skin."

Manuka Honey Products by Honeymark

A New York-based manufacturer of skin care products has developed a unique line of products containing Manuka Honey, which is a natural ingredient from New Zealand that has been found to have extraordinary healing properties.

Honey has long been considered a natural remedy when used topically on the skin. It has now been discovered that a particular type of honey produced by bees that use nectar from the Manuka bush (indigenous to New Zealand) has even more healing benefits than other types of honey. Manuka Honey is now being used to eliminate acne, wrinkles, eczema, muscle and joint pain, bacterial and fungal infections, etc.

Unlike many pharmaceuticals, Manuka Honey has been found to have no negative side effects when used for medicinal purposes. However, like all honey, Manuka Honey is sticky and can be somewhat unmanageable when applied to the skin. Honeymark has eliminated that inconvenience by blending this valuable ingredient into medicated creams and lotions for a much more desirable and user-friendly application.

Manuka Honey is successful in treating such a wide variety of skin conditions because it is antimicrobial, meaning that it can destroy infectious microorganisms including bacterial, viral and fungal microbes. Microscopic analysis has revealed that these infectious microorganisms cannot survive in the presence of Manuka Honey. Therefore, all skin conditions caused by them can be effectively treated by using Manuka Honey. Once the microbes are destroyed, the symptoms are alleviated.

Honeymark has developed products based upon years of research and anecdotal evidence of Manuka Honey being effective in treating certain conditions. In addition to active Manuka Honey, Honeymark products also contain other ingredients that are effective in treating the various conditions that each product is specially formulated for. Below is a list of Honeymark's Manuka Honey products:

  • Acne Cream
  • Anti-Fungal Solution
  • Anti-Itch Cream
  • Antiseptic Spray
  • Anti-Wrinkle Serum
  • First Aid Antiseptic Lotion
  • Hand Sanitizing Gel
  • Liquid Hand Soap
  • Pain Relief Cream

Among Manuka Honey's many accolades is its ability to destroy the deadly MRSA bacterium and heal Staph infections. Manuka Honey has the ability to draw moisture out of MRSA bacterial cells, making it impossible for them to survive. MRSA has become impervious to antibiotics by clumping together and forming biofilms that act as a protective layer. However, Manuka Honey interferes with the bacterial cell division cycle that allows MRSA to multiply and form these biofilms, making it a viable treatment solution for MRSA Staph infections.

Manuka Honey's ability to eradicate MRSA is now being considered a major medical breakthrough. Honeymark's First Aid Antiseptic Lotion is the product that is being used to effectively treat MRSA. Their Hand Sanitizing Gel, Antiseptic Spray and Liquid Hand Soap can be used as preventative measures by eliminating bacteria on the skin.

"Manuka Honey is nature's best kept secret," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Although, consumers are becoming more educated about different treatment options thanks to the Internet. Consumers are also feeling more comfortable with products that contain natural ingredients instead of the laundry list of side effects that come with the use of many pharmaceuticals."

Honeymark plans to unveil new Manuka Honey products in the future. In addition to its line of skin care products, Honeymark also sells Manuka Honey in a jar for individuals who want to take advantage of its healing benefits internally. When taken orally, Manuka Honey is effective in treating stomach ulcers, stomach aches, sore throats, cold and flu symptoms, gastritis, irritable bowl syndrome, acid reflux disease, etc.

Antiseptic Guaranteed to Heal MRSA Staph Infections

Honeymark International has developed a First Aid Antiseptic Lotion containing Active Manuka Honey that is so effective against MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections that the manufacturer has issued a money-back guarantee.

No one is impervious to the resilient super-bug associated with deadly Staph infections. This infection can be acquired at schools, locker rooms, hospitals or basically anywhere within the community and can be fatal if entered into the bloodstream. In the past, doctors were able to treat most serious infections with the use of antibiotics. However, over the past 30 years of antibiotic use (or overuse), some strains of bacteria have mutated and developed a resistance to antibiotics. This has left the medical industry without a solution...until now.

There is a special type of honey that only comes from the New Zealand region that has been found to have extraordinary antibacterial properties not found in other types of honey. Manuka Honey has the ability to draw moisture out of bacterial cells, making it impossible for them to survive. Manuka Honey has also been observed interfering with the bacterial cell division cycle, preventing the infection from spreading and basically stopping it dead in its tracks.

Honeymark International, a New York-based manufacturer of advanced skin care products has developed a line of products containing bio-active Manuka Honey as a natural healing agent. "There is no substance on the face of the planet that is more capable of destroying MRSA and healing Staph infections the way Manuka Honey can," says Frank Buonanotte, Honeymark's CEO. "Unlike antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals, Manuka Honey is a natural ingredient that has been found to have no negative side effects."

Manuka Honey's ability to eradicate MRSA is now being considered a major breakthrough within the medical industry and has gained worldwide recognition. Even doctors who are trained to believe in pharmaceuticals and usually frown upon natural alternatives are beginning to gain faith in the healing powers of Manuka Honey. "It just simply works," says Dr. Kenneth Johnson, a private practitioner on Long Island. "I've seen it with my own eyes. My patients go to the hospital for one thing and have come out with a Staph infection. After a short period of time, using a Manuka Honey-based dressing clears the infection very efficiently, where traditional forms of medicine had failed."

"Our First Aid Antiseptic Lotion is our best selling product, specifically because of its ability to heal MRSA Staph infections," says Buonanotte. "We have a money-back guarantee listed on our website that no one has accessed. It works every time."

Experts are now predicting that new strains of antibiotic-resistant bacteria will begin to emerge in the future. To date, there have been no reports of any bacteria being able to develop a resistance to Manuka Honey and it is expected that there never will be. Bacteria simply cannot survive in the healing environment created by Manuka Honey.

In addition to Honeymark's Manuka Honey-based Antiseptic Lotion, the company has announced that it will be releasing new products that can be used as a preventative measure. Within the next few weeks, Honeymark will be introducing a Hand Sanitizing Gel, Antiseptic Spray and a Liquid Hand Soap, all of which contain Manuka Honey. These products can help to prevent individuals from becoming infected with MRSA.

MRSA Treatment with Manuka Honey

Even though MRSA has become resistant to most antibiotics, it is no match for the powerful antibacterial properties of Manuka Honey.

As data on the prevalence of MRSA continues to mount, hospitals are taking an aggressive approach in preventing the spread of this resilient infection. Statistics indicate that about 2 million patients develop infections while being treated in the hospital every year and 100,000 of them die from the infection.

According to the Center for Disease Control, the proportion of infections that are antimicrobial-resistant has been growing each year. In 1974, MRSA infections accounted for 2% of the total number of staph infections; in 1995 it was 22% and in 2004 it was 63%. In fact, a report issued by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control found that MRSA infections are 8.6 times more prevalent than previous estimates and that the antibiotic-resistant bacteria is found in all wards throughout most hospitals.

Studies show that 30-50% of the population carry MRSA on their bodies. The fact is, MRSA can coexist on the surface of the skin very harmoniously without causing any significant health complications. It's only when the bacteria penetrates the skin by way of a wound or puncture where it can become harmful.

Despite the grim reality of MRSA infecting our communities, there is a viable treatment solution. A special type of honey found in New Zealand and certain parts of Australia has proven to be effective in destroying this resilient bacterium. It's not so much the bees in this region that are special, rather than the flowers that grow on the Manuka bush. These flowers produce a unique nectar that contains extraordinary antibacterial properties. The bees use this nectar to create what has become known as Manuka Honey.

It has been discovered that Manuka Honey contains healing properties not found in other types of honey. Manuka Honey destroys MRSA by drawing moisture out of the bacterial cell, making it impossible for them to survive. This is very similar to what happens when you pour salt on a slug.

Honey is one of the only substances in the world that does not expire. Food spoil when bacteria begins to form on it. However, bacteria cannot survive in honey. Honey discovered in ancient Egyptian tombs that were preserved for over 4,000 years has even been found to be suitable for consumption. The absence of bacteria in honey is mostly due to the presence of hydrogen peroxide. In fact, before antibiotics were invented, honey was commonly used for medical purposes, particularly for dressing wounds.

A rating system administered by the Active Manuka Honey Association in New Zealand calculates the potency of Manuka Honey on a scale from 0-30. It is generally accepted that Manuka Honey with a UMF rating of 10 or higher is considered active and suitable for therapeutic use. The higher the UMF rating, the higher the antibacterial activity. However, patients have reported sensitivity to Manuka Honey with extraordinarily high UMF ratings (i.e. UMF 20-30). Even UMF 10 Manuka Honey is potent enough to kill MRSA and heal Staph infections.

When examined under a microscope, it has been discovered that MRSA cells form a septum down the middle, dividing the cell into two separate cells. This happens every 30 minutes. However, Manuka Honey has been found to interfere with the cell division cycle, stopping it dead in its tracks. This has now been considered a major breakthrough in the medical industry.

In summation, active Manuka Honey is one of the only natural substances in the world that is capable of efficiently destroying MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria. As a result, Manuka Honey is now being used as a main ingredient in antiseptic products. One New York-based manufacturer of skin care products is taking advantage of the natural antimicrobial properties of Manuka Honey. Honeymark has developed a First Aid Antiseptic Lotion that is effective in treatment MRSA and other bacterial infections.

"Our First Aid Antiseptic Lotion is our best selling product, specifically because of its ability to kill MRSA and heal Staph infections," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "With experts predicting that new antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria will inevitably emerge in the future, Manuka Honey will be considered an extremely valuable resource." As a natural ingredient, Manuka Honey has been found to have no negative side effects when used for medicinal purposes.

Manuka Honey Available in the USA

This amazing natural resource from New Zealand has become increasingly more popular as of late. As a result, it is now being utilized as a main ingredient in skin care products manufactured in the U.S.

Manuka Honey's international notoriety stems from its ability to treat a wide spectrum of health conditions both internally and topically on the skin. When taken orally, Manuka Honey has been proven to be effective in treating conditions such as acid reflux disease, gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome, stomach ulcers, gum disease, etc. Manuka Honey has also been effective in treating a wide range of skin conditions such as eczema, acne, infected wounds, burns, ringworm, etc.

Manuka Honey is considered to be antimicrobial, which means it is effective in destroying microorganisms that are responsible for causing bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Since most health conditions are caused by these unwanted microbes, Manuka Honey's ability to destroy them has attracted the attention of doctors and other medical professionals around the world. Manuka Honey is even efficacious enough to eradicate MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria. Since antibiotics have proven to be relatively ineffective in treating Staph infections, the use of Manuka Honey is now being considered a viable treatment alternative. This is being recognized as a major breakthrough in the medical industry.

In addition to its medicinal qualities, Manuka Honey is also drawing attention to itself as a cosmetic ingredient. Manuka Honey has a hydrating and rejuvenating effect on the skin. It also has the ability to increases skin elasticity and collagen production. As a result, Manuka Honey has become recognized as an excellent anti-wrinkle solution. It has other impressive skin care applications in terms of a cleansing agent for clearing acne and other unsightly blemishes. Its antibacterial properties eliminate infections that cause red marks, boils and pimples.

It's not the bees in New Zealand that are so special, rather than the flowers where they collect the nectar to make the honey. The Manuka bush grows beautiful white and pink flowers that contain this unique nectar with unusually potent healing properties. Honeybees use this nectar to produce Manuka Honey. Bee farmers in New Zealand put their hives within close proximity to Manuka trees so that the bees only use its nectar to manufacture their honey.

Unfortunately, Manuka Honey is somewhat hard to come by. Shipping costs from New Zealand to the U.S. can be more than the honey itself. However, a New York-based company called Honeymark has developed a line of skin care products containing Manuka Honey as a main ingredient. Their creams and lotions also takes the sticky mess out of applying Manuka Honey directly to the skin.

"In many cases, active Manuka Honey has proven to be more effective than traditional forms of medicine," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "At a time when consumers are becoming more confident in the use of natural and cosmeceutical products, Manuka Honey offers the peace of mind of having no negative side effects. Even medical doctors who are usually more in favor of pharmaceuticals have become impress with the amazing healing benefits of Manuka Honey."

Skin Care and Manuka Honey

Manuka Honey has proven to be the most effective natural ingredient in skin care products for treating a wide range of conditions from infected wounds to acne.

Manuka Honey is a form of mono-floral honey which is produced by bees that feed on the flowers that grow on the Manuka plant (also known as the tea tree or Leptospermum Scoparium) which is indigenous to New Zealand. A similar honey is reported to be made by Australian bees which feed on the Jelly Bush (also known as Leptospermum Polygalifolium).

Manuka Honey has antibacterial and anti-fungal activities that are effective in treating a variety of different conditions such as infected wounds, acne, eczema, ringworm, etc. Manuka Honey is believed to magnify the properties of the tea tree by synergistically adding the naturally antibacterial properties inherent in honey.

According to a number of reported studies, many types of honey contain low levels of hydrogen peroxide, enough to provide an antimicrobial effect without causing tissue damage. However, the hydrogen peroxide present in standard honey is rapidly decomposed into water and oxygen upon contact with catalase, which is an enzyme that is present in blood and wound fluid. This rapid decomposition of hydrogen peroxide makes the antimicrobial activity of ordinary honey short-lived. Although, Manuka Honey has been found to show a stronger antimicrobial effect than other types of honey that is stable and maintains its healing properties even in the presence of catalase. Manuka Honey is also non-toxic to tissue, thereby giving it a distinct advantage over many other topical antiseptics.

There are a number of interesting theories as to the active components of Leptospermum Scoparium. It has been reported that Leptospermum Scoparium contains monoterpenes at low levels and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons at higher levesl including those possessing cubebene/copaene, elemene, gurjunene/aromadendrene, farnesene/caryophyllene, selinene, calamenene and cadinene skeletons. Also reported as being present in Leptospermum Scoparium have been oxygenated sesquiterpenes and triketones. The antimicrobial activity of the Leptospermum Scoparium is believed by some to arise from the triketone fractions.

Because of its impressive medicinal qualities, Manuka Honey is now being used as a main ingredient in skin care products. One U.S. manufacturer has been capitalizing on the healing benefits of Manuka Honey. Honeymark International is a New York-based skin care company that imports Manuka Honey from New Zealand and blends it into their products. Their proprietary formulations take the sticky mess out of applying honey directly to the skin. Honeymark products are effective in treating skin ulcers, MRSA/Staph infections, fungal infections, dermatitis, etc.

"Manuka Honey is a natural healer that has recently gained worldwide notoriety, particularly because of its ability to eradicate MRSA and heal Staph infections," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "No other skin care ingredient is as effective in healing bacterial and fungal infections."

Manuka Honey is an all-natural, organic ingredient that has been found to have no negative side effects. For more information or to purchase Manuka Honey skin care products, call 1-866-427-7329 or visit www.HoneymarkProducts.com. Honeymark products are not tested on animals.

Prevention and Treatment of MRSA with Manuka Honey

In many randomized controlled trials, scientists have concluded that Manuka Honey is capable of killing MRSA and healing Staph infections.

MRSA related Staph infections are the cause of concern in many hospitals across the world. It is not an uncommon occurrence that a patient is admitted into a hospital with one ailment and leaves with a Staph infection. Although, hospital patients aren't the only ones concerned about MRSA. Doctors and other medical professionals have grown increasingly more fearful that they may be exposed to this deadly bacteria.

MRSA is a mutated form of bacteria that has developed a resistance to antibiotics. If gone untreated, a MRSA-Staph infection can be fatal. Amidst all the hysteria, scientists are beginning to recognize that a particular type of honey, known as Manuka Honey, is actually effective against this notoriously resilient superbug.

Researchers have examined MRSA that has come in contact with Manuka Honey and have determined that MRSA cannot survive in the healing environment created by Manuka Honey. MRSA is a bacterium that grows and divides into 2 similar cells every half hour. It divides by forming a wall across the middle of the cell, which then splits in half to create 2 new cells. Studies have shown that Manuka Honey interferes with the cell cycle of MRSA by affecting the separation of new cells, so that cells unable to complete division are disabled at that point in the cell cycle.

All types of honey contain hydrogen peroxide which is a known antiseptic and disinfectant. However, scientists have discovered that there is an additional antibacterial component in Manuka Honey, making it much more effective for therapeutic use. This additional component, known as UMF, is unaffected by enzymes that dilutes the effectiveness of regular honey. It remains active when used as a wound dressing and diffuses deeper into skin tissues.

In addition to its unparalleled antibacterial properties, Manuka Honey is also considered to be antimicrobial and, therefore, capable of treating both bacterial and fungal infections. Another advantage to utilizing Manuka Honey for medical purposes is that its anti-inflammatory properties help to reduce pain in damaged tissue.

Manuka Honey is made by bees that use the nectar from the flower that grows on the Manuka bush, which is indigenous to New Zealand. It's this unique nectar that provides Manuka Honey with it's impressive healing qualities. Since Manuka Honey comes from New Zealand, it can be somewhat hard to come by. However, a New York-based manufacturer of skin care products called Honeymark has developed a line of Manuka Honey products that is available in the U.S.

"Manuka Honey is natures best kept secret," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Although, its ability to conquer the battle against MRSA superbugs is projecting Manuka Honey into the lime light." Unlike some traditional forms of medicine, Manuka Honey has been found to have no negative side effects when used for medical purposes.

Honeymark's First Aid Antiseptic Lotion contains Active Manuka Honey and is their best selling product, specifically because of its ability to heal Staph infections. For more information or to purchase Manuka Honey products, call 1-866-427-7329 or visit www.HoneymarkProducts.com.

Using Natural Ingredients for Pain Relief

Honeymark has developed a topical analgesic for the purposes of alleviating muscle and joint pain, inflammation and stiffness utilizing a variety of naturally soothing ingredients.

It is extremely difficult to deal with pain, particularly on an on-going basis. Some people deal with pain as a result of arthritis while others encounter regular backaches and other forms of muscle pain. The most common causes of muscle pain are overuse, tension and trauma (sprains and strains, etc.).

Many people suffer from some type of arthritis. The most common symptom is persistent joint pain, especially in hands, elbows, shoulders and knees. There are two common types of arthritis; osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most common of the two, which involves the deterioration of cartilage in the joints, causing pain and limited range of motion when the bones rub together. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease which causes the lining of the joints to become inflamed and irritated. The symptoms include pain, stiffness, swelling and redness.

Back pain is another symptom that many people are faced with on a daily basis. Statistics indicate that four of out five people experience backaches. Episodic back pain can last a few days, but chronic pain can cause months of discomfort.

There is, however, a way to manage all of these types of painful conditions. Unlike oral drug medications taken to treat pain, topical analgesic pain relief creams bypasses the gastrointestinal tract and are less likely to cause stomachaches, ulcers or bleeding.

Honeymark's Pain Relief Cream is a topical analgesic that can be safely used to temporarily provide pain relief for painful symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, neck and low back strain or sprain, whiplash, muscular and joint pain and some types of nerve pain. This quick-penetrating cream can bring extraordinary relief to muscle aches, joint pain, and arthritis virtually anywhere on your body in just minutes.

The key is the natural ingredients that are used to naturally soothe muscles and eliminate inflammation. Honeymark's Pain Relief Cream includes the following natural incredients:

Manuka Honey: This special type of honey from New Zealand contains natural anti-inflammatory properties.

Camphor: Extracted from the wood of the Camphor Laurel, an Asian evergreen tree, this ingredient absorbs into the skin, creating a cooling effect that acts as a slight, natural anesthetic.

Menthol: An organic compound made from peppermint or other mint oils that stimulates the cold receptors in the skin, producing a natural cooling effect.

Emu Oil: Made from the refined fat of the Emu, a bird native to Australia, has strong anti-inflammatory properties.

Almond Oil: Obtained from the dried kernel of the almond plant, almond oil has the ability to soften and soothe the skin.

Arnica: Extracted from the Arnica Montana plant, this ingredient assists the normal healing processes by facilitating transport of blood and fluid accumulations through a dilating action of subcutaneous blood capillaries.

Balm Mint Extract: Made from the dried leaves of the balm mint plant, this ingredient is known for its soothing and toning properties.

Aloe: Extracts of the aloe plant have a soothing and healing effect when used on the skin.

Witch Hazel: This extract reduces swelling and tighten and soothe aching varicose veins and reduce inflammation.

Plantation Extract: Has a relaxing and inhibiting effect on aortic and portal smooth muscles.

The benefits of using Honeymark's Pain Relief Cream as a topical analgesic are as follows:

  • Eliminates arthritis pain

The Latest Discovery in Skin Care

A unique type of honey known as Manuka Honey is now being used as a natural healing ingredient in skin care products as an alternative to less desirable synthetic ingredients.

If you haven't heard of Manuka Honey until now, you will begin to hear more about it in the future. As reports of its effectiveness swarm the globe, manufacturers are jumping on the band wagon by utilizing this natural resource in their skin care products. Manuka Honey has proven to be extremely effective in treating skin conditions such as acne, burns, eczema, fungal infections, bacterial infections, etc. Manuka Honey hydrates the skin while dehydrating bacterial cells, efficiently healing infection. It also has an uncanny ability to heal damaged skin and regenerate new skin growth.

What is Manuka Honey? In the beautiful, pollution-free fields of New Zealand, the Manuka bush grows wild across the countryside. This indigenous bush spawns beautiful pink and white flowers that contain an extraordinary nectar used by honeybees to produce honey. The bees take this nectar back to their hives where they add enzymes to it and produce this special type of honey that has become quite a commodity as of late. Its not the bees that are so special, rather than the nectar from the Manuka bush that possess the notable healing properties.

Manuka Honey's biggest claim to fame is its ability to eradicate the MRSA bacterium that is responsible for causing life-threatening Staph infections. Researchers have reason to believe that Manuka Honey has up to 30 times more antibacterial activity than other types of honey. Manuka Honey's anti-inflammatory properties is useful for individuals who have sensitive skin. By osmosis, Manuka Honey draws impurities out of the pores of the skin as well as moisture from unwanted microorganisms, forcing them to shrivel up and die.

There is scientific evidence suggesting that Manuka Honey is effective in treating unsightly spots called Molluscum Contagiosum. Manuka Honey is also a hundred times more effective as an anti-inflammatory agent than hydrocortisone for the treatment of eczema and other forms of dermatitis. Recent studies have also shown that Manuka Honey is effective for the treatment of cold sores (herpes simplex) and can be applied to soothe sun burnt skin. The medicinal applications are endless when using Manuka Honey topically on the skin.

In addition to its medical use, it's also important to know that Manuka Honey contains a high content of antioxidants that rejuvenate, nourish and repair the skin for a younger, smoother look. It helps the skin in cellular renewal and in the growth of collagen and skin elasticity. When used on the skin, Manuka Honey has the ability to reduce sensitivity, inflammation and itching associated with some skin disorders.

"Unlike some synthetic ingredients, Manuka Honey is effective in treating certain skin conditions without the negative side effects," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International which is a manufacturer of Manuka Honey skin care products. "Instead of harsh chemicals that have a tendency to dry the skin, Manuka Honey uses its natural antibacterial properties to kill unwanted bacteria and clear the skin of impurities."

To avoid the stickiness associated with applying honey directly to the skin, Honeymark has developed skin care products that contain Manuka Honey for a much more desirable and user-friendly application. For more information or to purchase Manuka Honey products, call 1-866-427-7329 or visit www.HoneymarkProducts.com.

Benefits of Using Manuka Honey as a Wound Dressing

Manuka Honey is becoming a popular ingredient in wound care products because of its ability to rapidly clear infection and heal wounds. The following delineates the benefits of utilizing this amazing natural resource as a viable treatment alternative to conventional wound medications.

Honey has been used as a natural wound healer for many years. However, recent discoveries have concluded that one particular kind of honey, indigenous to New Zealand, contains plant-derived healing properties that sets it apart from other types of honey. Manuka Honey's greatest asset is its antibacterial properties. Most traditional forms of medicine used for clearing infections can be damaging to skin tissue. However, Manuka Honey has been found to have no known side effects.

In addition to being an excellent source for healing infection, Manuka Honey also helps to prevent scarring. During the healing process, a wound will form a scab in an effort to prevent further blood loss. The problem is that newly forming skin can only grow below the scab. This creates a deformity as the new tissue is not even with the rest of the skin. However, the moist healing environment created by Manuka Honey helps to lift the scab, therefore, allowing for the regeneration of new skin to grow flush with the surface of the wound.

In some more serious wounds, patients notice that the wound begins to smell bad. Wounds most commonly associated with malodor include exudating wounds, chronic pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, diabetic/neuropathic ulcers, fungating, cancerous or malignant lesions and wounds with necrotic tissue. Wound odor is mostly due to the degradation of tissue or bacteria that release compounds and fatty acids. When a Manuka Honey-based dressing is used, the bacteria feed of the sugars in the honey and give off better smelling gases, therefore minimizing or eliminating malodor.

Manuka Honey also has powerful anti-inflammatory properties that help to relieve pain associated with wounds. Once Manuka Honey is applied to a wound, tissue inflammation and swelling is immediately reduced. Since pain is never considered a desirable experience, this could possibly be one of Manuka Honey's more favorable qualities.

Perhaps the element that has brought Manuka Honey into the spot light as of late is its ability to destroy antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as MRSA and VRE. With the widespread concern of Staph infections and the lack of treatment alternatives, Manuka Honey has come through like a ray of hope, effectively healing such conditions where antibiotics have failed. News headlines around the world have described Manuka Honey's ability to go toe-to-toe with this deadly infection. The best way to describe it is that, by osmosis, Manuka Honey draws moisture out of the bacterial cells, making it impossible for them to stay alive. This is why no bacteria has ever been able to develop a resistance to Manuka Honey, and never will.

Below is a brief recapitulation of Manuka Honey's wound healing benefits:

  • Antibacterial properties rapidly clear infection

  • Causes scabs to lift, avoiding the formation of scars

  • Eliminates malodor in more serious wounds

  • Kills antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as MRSA

  • Heals wounds quickly

  • Repairs damaged skin and regenerates new skin growth

  • Anti-inflammatory properties reduce pain

  • No negative side effects

If the thought of applying honey directly to a wound is less desirable, a company called Honeymark has developed a First Aid Antiseptic Lotion containing Active Manuka Honey that is extremely effective in treating wounds and burns. "Honeymark's First Aid Antiseptic Lotion has all the health benefits of using Manuka Honey as a wound dressing without the sticky mess," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "This product also has other valuable ingredients that make it extremely effective in treating seriously infected wounds, burns or minor cuts and scrapes. It's a must-have in your medicine cabinet or first aid kit"

Manuka Honey, the Natural Wound Healer

Honey from New Zealand provides what scientists believe to be the most efficient wound healing properties, capable of eradicating even the most resilient bacterial infections.

When it comes to health care products, consumers want to feel completely comfortable with the ingredients used. At a time when more people are losing faith in pharmaceuticals and leaning more toward natural alternatives, honey has become a desirable ingredient. With the FDA cracking down on pharmaceutical companies to disclose all possible side effects of their products, consumers seek refuge in the fact that honey has no negative side effects when used topically on the skin as an antibacterial agent.

Talk about track records...honey has been used as a wound dressing for over 4000 years. Recent studies have shown that the utilization of honey as a healing agent holds up better than more traditional dressing materials in its effectiveness in managing wounds.

Manuka Honey, which is derived from a plant that is native to New Zealand, has proven to be the superior type of honey to use for therapeutic purposes because of the existence of additional antimicrobial properties. Standard honey can lose its ability to destroy bacteria if exposed to certain conditions such as heat or light. It can also lose its effectiveness if diluted by wound fluid. However, Manuka Honey's antibacterial action is stable and maintains its potency when exposed to these elements. It also doesn't have any adverse effects on wound tissue the way other wound dressings do.

Manuka Honey's main claim to fame is its ability to destroy MRSA and heal Staph infections. As antibiotics are proving to be less effective against these resilient strains of bacteria, Manuka Honey is gaining popularity as a universal wound dressing for conditions such as skin ulcers, surgical wounds, pressure sores, chronic wounds and even simple every day cuts and scrapes. Medical professionals are even finding that Manuka Honey works wonders on 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns.

In addition to its ability to efficiently clear infection, Manuka Honey also has an anti-inflammatory action which helps to relieve pain associated with wounds. It's debriding action removes foreign matter and dead tissue from a wound, allowing for a clean healing environment that's conducive for the regeneration of new skin tissue. By osmosis, Manuka Honey draws moisture out of bacterial cells, in essence, forcing them to shrivel up and die.

As a general rule, Manuka Honey seems to work on hard-to-heal wounds where other conventional methods have failed. Manuka Honey has also been known to form a protective barrier around a wound, preventing it from becoming infected. Malodor is reduced or in some cases eliminated in more serious wounds become the microorganisms in the wound feed on the sugars in the honey and give off more pleasant-smelling gasses.

Another benefit to using wound dressings containing Manuka Honey is that a moist healing environment is created, which lifts scabs and dead skin tissue from the wound. This allows the wound to heal flush with the surface of the skin, preventing scarring. A scar forms when a wound can only heal below a scab, creating deformity. Manuka Honey also has the ability to diffuse deep below the surface of the skin which allows it to clear deep-seeded infection.

To overcome the messiness associated with applying honey directly to the skin, a company called Honeymark has developed a First Aid Antiseptic Lotion containing Active Manuka Honey which allows for a much more user-friendly application. "Manuka Honey has been proven to destroy the MRSA bacterium when antibiotics have failed," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Manuka Honey inhibits the growth of bacteria better than any other substance that has been used to treat infection." Buonanotte cautions that only Active Manuka Honey should be used for wound care. Ordinary honey may not have enough potency to destroy the bacteria that infects wounds.

Manuka Honey Skin Care Products

A new approach in skin care is the utilization of a special type of honey that contains amazing healing properties and provides natural regeneration of skin tissue.

Honey has been used as a skin care agent for many years. Its antibacterial properties efficiently heal infected wounds and its antioxidant and nutrient-rich qualities have been used to nourish, rejuvenate, hydrate and repair the skin. Whether being used for medicinal or beauty purposes, honey has been regarded as a great natural resource.

Scientific studies have identified that one particular kind of honey seems to be more effective than the rest. Manuka Honey is derived from the nectar of a flower indigenous to New Zealand. Bees gather the nectar of the flowers that grow on the Manuka bush and take it back to their hives where they produce this unique type of honey. Unlike standard honey, Manuka Honey's healing properties are stable and do not lose their effectiveness if exposed to certain conditions such as heat, light or fluid dilution. It also contains additional plant-derived components that give it more of an antibacterial action.

Companies that manufacture skin care products have begun to recognize the benefits of using Manuka Honey on the skin. Honeymark, a Long Island-based company, imports Manuka Honey from New Zealand and blends it into their products. Their unique line of Manuka Honey products is gaining rave reviews because of their outstanding effectiveness in treating certain conditions such as dermatitis, fungal infections, bacterial infections, etc. The company's CEO, Frank Buonanotte, believes that Manuka Honey will become the next big thing in skin care. "Since Manuka Honey is indigenous to New Zealand, word of its effectiveness initially penetrated Asian and European markets," says Buonanotte. "However, Manuka Honey works too well as a skin care ingredient for it to not gain its well-deserved notoriety in the U.S."

Over the past 6-8 months, there has been an increase in the level of awareness that Manuka Honey is truly a superior skin care product. Manuka Honey's ability to eradicate the MRSA bacterium and heal Staph infections is mainly responsible for its increase in popularity. At a time when pharmaceuticals and traditional forms of medicine are proving to be useless against antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria, Manuka Honey provides a viable solution to the MRSA epidemic. Even medical doctors who normally favor pharmaceuticals over natural alternatives are beginning to reconsider the value of using Manuka Honey dressings to treat infection and hard-to-heal wounds. With experts predicting that more drug-resistant bacteria will emerge in the future, Manuka Honey may become even more valued as a natural healing agent.

By osmosis, Manuka Honey draws moisture out of bacterial cells, making it impossible for them to survive. Since scientists have discovered that bacteria is the cause for many negative health conditions, Manuka Honey's antibacterial properties are being exploited. In addition, Manuka Honey is considered to be antimicrobial, making it capable of destroying other microorganisms such as fungi.

Thanks to the internet, consumers are educating themselves on what products work best and why. Consumers are also becoming more aware of which ingredients are more harmful than others. Since Manuka Honey is an all-natural ingredient that has been found to have no known side effects, its popularity is expected to rise even more in the future. "There is no natural substance on the face of the planet that is more effective in destroying unwanted microorganisms on the skin than Manuka Honey," says Buonanotte. "Its ability to eliminate impurities and promote healing in a natural and safe manner is second to none."

Since honey is sticky and not particularly user-friendly when applied to the skin, Honeymark's Manuka Honey creams and lotions provide for a much more desirable application. The company also plans on releasing other Manuka Honey products in the form of a gel, spray and soap later this year.

Relief from Pain and Aching Muscles

The following is a closer look at some of the natural ingredients that make Honeymark's Pain Relief Cream an effective, topical analgesic.

Honeymark International is a manufacturer of advanced skin care products that has developed a revolutionary formula of ingredients effective in relieving pain. Their Pain Relief Cream is a combination of ingredients that are extraordinarily effective in treating painful symptoms such as arthritis, strains, backaches, sprains, joint and muscle stiffness, etc. Below are some of the ingredients that make this product an effective pain management solution.

Manuka Honey
Manuka Honey is becoming a popular ingredient in treating arthritis pain due to its anti-inflammatory properties and curative capacity. It has the ability to minimize joint swelling and acts as a natural pain killer. Manuka Honey is derived from the nectar of the flowers that grow on the Tea Tree, native to New Zealand.

Camphor
Camphor is an ingredient that is used topically to relieve pain. It is absorbed through the skin, creating a cooling effect that acts as a slight local anesthetic. Camphor can be used externally to relieve arthritic pain, rheumatic pain, neuralgia and back pain. Camphor is found in the wood of the Camphor Laurel, which is a large evergreen tree found in Asia.

Menthol
Menthol stimulates the cold receptors in the skin, producing a natural cooling effect. It doesn't actually change the skin's temperature, but merely produces the sensation of a cooler temperature change. Menthol is used as a topical analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains such as muscle cramps, sprains, headaches and similar conditions. Menthol is an organic compound made from peppermint or other mint oils.

Emu oil
Emu Oil is used as a pain reliever for bone, muscle and joint disorders. It is a complete neutral lipid, since emu oil lacks phospholipid, making it highly penetrating to the skin. Emu oil is used as a natural analgesic and is effective in treating arthritis and other pains due to its strong anti-inflammatory properties. Emu oil is an oil made from the refined fat of the emu which is a bird native to Australia.

Almond Oil
Almond oil is one of the least greasy oils. It has been traditionally used by massage therapists to lubricate the skin and is considered to be an effective emollient because of its ability to soften and soothe the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties making it effective in relieving muscle pain. Almond Oil is obtained from the dried kernel of the almond plant.

Arnica Extract
Extract of Arnica is an excellent first-aid for sprains. Arnica Extract has anti-inflammatory properties and is effective when used on bruises, strains, sprains & sore muscles. Arnica assists the normal healing processes by facilitating transport of blood and fluid accumulations through a dilating action of subcutaneous blood capillaries. This ingredient is the extract from the Arnica montana plant.

Balm Mint Extract
Balm mint extract is known for its soothing and toning properties and is made from the dried leaves of the balm mint plant.

Aloe Barbadensis Extract
Soothing and healing are the best chiral components of aloe. There are different components that account for its effectiveness. Mannose Phosphate is the healer, Hydroxy Chromone and Methyl Phytyl Chromanol are the antioxidants and Methyl Tocol is the anti-inflammatory compound.

Witch Hazel Extract
Witch hazel is used externally on sores, bruises and swelling. The astringent tannins in witch hazel tighten and soothe aching varicose veins and reduce inflammation in cases of phlebitis (an inflammation of a vein). Witch hazel also contains procyanadins, resin and flavonoids, all of which add to its soothing, anti-inflammatory properties.

Plantain Extract
Plantain extract has a relaxing and inhibiting effect on aortic and portal smooth muscles.

"All of the ingredients combined in our Pain Relief Cream make it as effective as it is," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Topical analgesics that don't have the same ingredients will simply not be as effective."

How to Prevent a Wound from Scarring

Medical grade honey is being used as a dressing to effectively heal wounds without the formation of a scar.

Some people think that a scab promotes healing in a wound. This is not true. A scab is dead cell material that deprives the tissue underneath of nutrients and moisture which is necessary for the regeneration of skin tissue. Scabs prevent the skin from growing flush with the surface of the skin and, therefore, are the cause of scarring. New skin tissue grows underneath the scab at a lower level than the rest of the skin. When the scab falls off, the new skin tissue that grew underneath remains at the lower level, creating deformity of the skin. In order to prevent scarring, a wound has to be treated properly from the beginning, allowing the new skin to re-grow flush with the level of the rest of the skin.

A breakthrough in wound care has been discovered utilizing a special type of honey known as Manuka Honey. This medical grade honey is produced from the nectar of the Manuka bush which is indigenous to New Zealand. Manuka Honey provides a moist, healing environment that is not only effective in healing wounds efficiently but also lifts scabs away from the surface of the wound. Manuka Honey contains vitamins, nutrients, amino acids and sugars which play a role in collagen synthesis for the reduction of scars. Manuka Honey also creates a protective barrier around the newly grown skin which prevents scabs from forming.

In addition to preventing scars, Manuka Honey provides the following benefits for wound healing:

  • A moist and sterile environment conducive for the regeneration of skin growth;

  • Antioxidant activity that decreases that amount of destructive free radicals;

  • Anti-inflammatory properties which help to reduce swelling and relieve pain;

  • Debriding action that allows easy detachment of scabs and dead tissue;

  • Increases in blood circulation to the wound;

  • Osmotic effect that draws exudate and impurities from the wound;

  • Reduction of wound odor by preventing ammonia production;

  • Antibacterial properties that heal infection.

Perhaps one of the most encouraging benefits to using Manuka Honey as a wound dressing is that it has no known side effects. If the idea of putting honey on a wound is undesirable, a manufacturer of skin care products called Honeymark has developed a First Aid Antiseptic Lotion containing Active Manuka Honey as a healing agent. This product takes the sticky mess out of using honey on the skin but provides all of the same healing benefits of Manuka Honey.

"There is no better substance on the face of the planet that is more capable of preventing a scar from forming than Manuka Honey," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Manuka Honey naturally lifts scabs from the surface of a wound, allowing the skin to heal evenly. Average wound dressings cannot do that."

New Manuka Honey Products - Coming Soon

Skin care products manufacturer, Honeymark International, will be launching an expanded line of Manuka Honey products in the summer of 2008.

Anti-Wrinkle Serum
Manuka Honey is very good for the skin due to the presence of vitamins, antioxidants. Manuka Honey's ability to absorb and retain moisture make it an ideal natural ingredient as it helps keep skin hydrated and fresh. In fact, history shows that ancient beauties regularly applied a mixture of honey and milk to the face to keep their skin looking young, radiant and smooth. Honey's natural antioxidant and antimicrobial properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays while supporting the skin's ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin. Exposure to the sun is the number one cause of wrinkles. Manuka Honey has a moisturizing and nourishing effect on the skin which helps elasticity and texture. There may be no better way to bring a smooth glow to your skin than by using Manuka Honey.

Acne Cream
Manuka Honey has the ability to absorb impurities from the pores in the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent. It's especially effective in fading red marks and killing bacteria. The cause of acne infection is a bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes. The pores or follicles in the skin become blocked, preventing the sebum from escaping to the surface and the acne bacteria infects the trapped sebum. This leads to an increase in white blood cells in the localized area of the follicle blockage resulting in inflammation, redness and pain. With regard to acne, Manuka Honey is effective in a number of ways. Manuka Honey penetrates the epidermis of the acne infection far better than synthetic medications. Once at the seat of the acne infection, it quickly controls the acne bacteria. The presence of Manuka Honey also helps to break up and release the blockage of individual follicles leading to the cause of acne. Manuka Honey's anti-inflammatory action helps to eliminate any pain present.

Antiseptic Spray
With the recent spread of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria such as MRSA, Honeymark offers a preventative measure to reduce the risk of Staph infections. This product contains Benzalkonium Chloride and Active Manuka Honey as antibacterial agents. It can be used to spray on cuts, scrapes and abrasions to heal and prevent infection for a much more convenient application than ointments and other disinfectants. Manuka Honey has the ability to draw moisture out of bacterial cells, making it impossible for them to survive. This osmotic effect makes active Manuka Honey one of the most effective antibacterial agents available. Manuka Honey is also antimicrobial which makes it effective in healing both bacterial and fungal infections.

Hand Sanitizing Gel
A similar formulation of our Antiseptic Spray, this product can be used as a preventative measure by keeping hands free of germs as to avoid the spread of harmful bacteria. Manuka Honey is capable of destroying microorganisms such as E. Coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhimurium, Streptococcus faecalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Citrobacter freundii, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, H. Pylori and MRSA. This makes Honeymark's Hand Sanitizing Gel extremely effective as a disinfectant. Most hand gels contain alcohol to kill germs. Alcohol may kills germs but it also dries the skin out and cracks it, giving germs the opportunity to get inside where they can cause more harm than on the surface of the skin. Honeymark's Hand Sanitizing Gel does not contain alcohol.

Antimicrobial Liquid Hand Soap
Like most hand gels, many antibacterial soaps contain alcohol as their means in which to kill germs. As stated above, alcohol is not a favorable ingredient to use on the skin. Honeymark's Liquid Hand Soap does not contain alcohol but rather active Manuka Honey as an antimicrobial agent. Most antibacterial soaps are also not capable of destroying fungi that may be present. Manuka Honey's antimicrobial properties ensure all unwanted microorganisms are destroyed, leaving your hands completely germ free.

"Honeymark only uses medical grade active Manuka Honey in all products," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "There is enough Manuka Honey to be effective without being sticky. Honeymark will be releasing these new products in the Summer of 2008. Other Manuka Honey products will be released by the end of the year, such as a facial masks, antibacterial wipes, shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer, all of which will contain Manuka Honey."
